This tool, developed by Dr. Henry Hickman of the University of Canterbury will be where you sit your programming assessment.
Your teacher will give you a join code to a course name that they have set up for you.
The assessment tool "marks" the code against the criteria for AS92004 and gives your teacher a complete report and suggested mark.
Teacher judgement is final.
Please watch the NCEA-Auto Student Info video now.
Make a copy of the following task and read it so that you understand what is expected of you.
All the information you need is in the task or the videos.
Remember this is done in EXAM CONDITIONS and you are only allowed to use the NCEA-Auto webpage and no other IDE, webpage or resource.
You will have THREE questions. You may answer as many of them as you wish and will recieve the highest mark.
Write your code in the code editor in NCEA-Auto.
Test your code regularly using your own tests as well as the sample test. The sample test is only there to help you understand the problem.
Check your code when you think you have an answer. The feedback is limited to syntax errors and the supplied sample, so if you have not "passed all tests" then you must debug and think of why your code might not have passed all the tests. Then debug, write and test again.
When you are finished, click "finish all and submit" and let your teacher know you ar ready for marking.
Submit your copy of the AS92004 Programming Task 2026 to your teacher for it to be used to record your result.
Apply for an account here: https://forms.gle/MUBjja1VAFxAcReu6
You will be contacted shortly afterwards by Techquity with more instructions and what to do next.
Please watch the NCEA-Auto Teacher Info video on this page first.
This tool will generate a report for each student that participates. This report will "suggest" a mark based on the criteria but you will have have to verify the results. We recommend you distribute and collect the above AS92004 Programming Task 2026 document and use it to record and justify the final mark that you award for each student.
Make sure you have read and understand the standard: https://www.nzqa.govt.nz/nqfdocs/ncea-resource/achievements/2024/as92004.pdf
The video to the right goes into a lot of depth on using the tool to help you make an informed decision.
This tool was developed by Dr Henry Hickman and if you'd like a "light read" you can view his pHD thesis here in case you need any more convincing that it meets the criteria of AS92004 and helps out us teachers!
The marking schedule is included in the Student Task shown above. I highly recommend you distrubute a task to each student. Mark and justify your mark on their task document.
