AI Art Generation

AI art has exploded in poluarity and sophistication in the last few years. This short unit will show you some of the tools and how to use them that can be used to make art that can be used in a wide range of contexts.

AI Image Generation

You must be at least 13 years old to use Adobe Firefly.

Craiyon does not have such limits.

Be clear about what you want - A person, animal, object, place, or creature

For example: A small robot sitting on a park bench

Not: Something futuristic

Add important details - Give a few specific details that matter. This could be size, colour, age, mood, action. 3–5 details is plenty.

For example: A small rusty robot sitting on a park bench, holding a flower in the rain

Choose an Art Style - Style tells the AI how it should look.

For example: cartoon, realistic, digital painting, pixel art, watercolour, anime etc.

As of January 15th 2026 ,Adobe Firefly the AI behind Adobe Express is becoming limited. If you run out of credits you can use another AI art generation platform like https://www.craiyon.com/en. The prompts that you can use are exactly the same. You can still use the templates in Adobe Express but you may need to generate your images elsewhere and copy them across.

Task #1 Creative Hero Card

Using Adobe Express (free using your school account) Turn yourself into a Creative Hero Card. If you are not 13 you can use the art generation tool Craiyon instead of Adobe Firefly (Adobe's AI art generator).

Have fun creating an image that reflects you, your personality and interests.

Sample Prompt: you should change the text in the [square brackets] to better refect you

Create a vibrant, retro-inspired pop art portrait of a [girl]. With has bold, neon-colored [green] hair, styled in a [bob]. Wearing [oversized sunglasses]. The background should be bright and abstract, with bursts of color and dynamic shapes, invoking a 1960s or 1970s comic book aesthetic.

Once you are happy with your design download it as a png and save it somewhere safe.

Task #2 Prompt Engineering Challenge

Your challenge is to create 8 images using 8 different styles and 1 Base Prompt. Use the 9 x 9 grid to showcase your 8 images with your base prompt in the middle.

Click this link Adobe Express Engineering Prompt Template to get started and as per the task above click each image to change the prompt.

There are lots of different styles you could try other than the 8 used in the example, feel free to use some of the below or create your own ones.

8 styles used in the template: low poly style; hand painted style; comic book style; kawaii anime style; voxel style; stained glass style; 16 bit retro video game style; 3d adorable cartoon style.

Other styles to try: chibi anime style; flat art cartoon style; doodle style; isometric style

Once you are happy with your design download it as a png and save it somewhere safe.

Task #3 Your Choice

Make as many other things as you can, customize them to your own personal taste.

AI Music Generation

You must be at least 13 years old to use Suno.

Be clear about what you want - This is the main idea of the music.

For example: A song about a monkey eating bananas

Not: Something funny

Add important details - Give a few specific details that matter.
- mood (happy, sad, calm, tense)
- speed (slow, medium, fast)
- 2–5 details is plenty.

For example: A funny happy song about a monkey eating bananas

Choose an Music Style - Style tells the AI what it should sound like.

For example: electronic, orchestral, lo-fi, rock, chiptune, ambient, modern rap

Putting it all together.

Task 4# Make Some Music in Suno

Use Suno to make a song about an animal doing something. Make sure your prompt uses the the guidelines above. Make about 5 different prompts to make some songs and chose your favourite.

Download your song by pressing the (…) button and save it to a safe space on your computer.

AI Video Generation

You must be at least 13 years old to use Sora.

AI video is currently a lot more expensive to make so it may be easier if you do this activity as a class.

Be clear about what you want - This is the main idea of the video.

For example: A child flying a kite on a windy hill

Not: Something outdoors

Add important details - Give a few specific details that matter.
- who or what is in the video
- what they are doing
- time of day or weather
- mood or feeling

For example: A child flying a bright red kite on a grassy hill, strong wind, blue sky with clouds, joyful mood

Choose a Visual Style - Style tells the AI what it should sound like.

For example: realistic, cinematic, animated, cartoon, painterly, stylised

Choose Camera & Motion - Videos need movement.

This could include:

wide shot / close-up
slow camera pan
kite moving in the wind
clouds drifting

For example: wide shot, slow camera pan, kite pulling strongly in the wind

Task #5 Make a video

Your teacher migt be able to use Adobe Firefly, Sora, or similar to generate a video as a class. This can then be shared to everyone.

Showcase your Work

Task #6 AI Generation Portfolio

Finish with the portfolio to showcase the best work you've created.

Go to Adobe Express Digital Sketchbook and watch the intro video and hit REMIX Design

Put all of your generated Art, song and video into your portfolio.
Customise the background, fonts, text, and other features to make an awesome AI Portfolio
Once you are happy with your design download it as a mp4 and save it somewhere safe.
