AI art has exploded in poluarity and sophistication in the last few years. This short unit will show you some of the tools and how to use them that can be used to make art that can be used in a wide range of contexts.
Be clear about what you want - A person, animal, object, place, or creature
For example: A small robot sitting on a park bench
Not: Something futuristic
Add important details - Give a few specific details that matter. This could be size, colour, age, mood, action. 3–5 details is plenty.
For example: A small rusty robot sitting on a park bench, holding a flower in the rain
Choose an Art Style - Style tells the AI how it should look.
For example: cartoon, realistic, digital painting, pixel art, watercolour, anime etc.

As of January 15th 2026 ,Adobe Firefly the AI behind Adobe Express is becoming limited. If you run out of credits you can use another AI art generation platform like https://www.craiyon.com/en. The prompts that you can use are exactly the same. You can still use the templates in Adobe Express but you may need to generate your images elsewhere and copy them across.
Using Adobe Express (free using your school account) Turn yourself into a Creative Hero Card. If you are not 13 you can use the art generation tool Craiyon instead of Adobe Firefly (Adobe's AI art generator).

Have fun creating an image that reflects you, your personality and interests.

Create a vibrant, retro-inspired pop art portrait of a [girl]. With has bold, neon-colored [green] hair, styled in a [bob]. Wearing [oversized sunglasses]. The background should be bright and abstract, with bursts of color and dynamic shapes, invoking a 1960s or 1970s comic book aesthetic.
Once you are happy with your design download it as a png and save it somewhere safe.
Your challenge is to create 8 images using 8 different styles and 1 Base Prompt. Use the 9 x 9 grid to showcase your 8 images with your base prompt in the middle.

There are lots of different styles you could try other than the 8 used in the example, feel free to use some of the below or create your own ones.

Use Suno to make a song about an animal doing something. Make sure your prompt uses the the guidelines above. Make about 5 different prompts to make some songs and chose your favourite.
Download your song by pressing the (…) button and save it to a safe space on your computer.
AI video is currently a lot more expensive to make so it may be easier if you do this activity as a class.

Choose Camera & Motion - Videos need movement.
This could include:

clouds drifting
